Two Problems

Has anyone the same two problems that I have and if so, what is the solution.

1. Cruise control does not work at all, no lights, no response

2. 125mph the bonnet seems to "flutter" a lot

I would appreciate any help, especially on the first problem

For the bonnet flutter check both the holding pins are engaged. I had to really slam the bonnet down to get both to lock. Works fine now.

...and with regard to the cruise control, if it simply doesn't work then you should really visit your dealer and have them check it out.

Both pins are definately engaged so I will have to take it to the dealer to get it checked.
The cruise control used to work, intermittently and the dealer told me that they had "bus" communications on 4 of the RRS but I wondered if you guys had heard of any fixes for the problem.
Oh, well, I will take it back to the dealer (Auto Koenig in Anzing). Superb dealer and they give you a 5 litre Phaeton for a loan car!!!!
ta for input

My bonnet used to move at about 70mph and above. I tried slaming it down harder and for a long time now I haven't noticed any movement. It has seemed to fix itself. Matt

I used to have intermittent problems with the cruise control when I first got my Sport, perhaps one time out of 10 it would not engage (or it would work fine at first but fail to reengage after I touched the brakes), all c.c. buttons would be dead, no light on the dash. After switching off the engine and turning it back on, everything would work fine again. I mentioned the problem to my dealer when I went for my 7500mi service last November, and of course they "could not reproduce" the problem at the time. I have put another 8000 miles on the car since that time, but have never experienced the issue again, and I use the feature quite a lot. File that one under "Land Rover gremlins".

I had a similar problem with the cruise control. I could activate it, set it, and increase speed using the steering wheel "+" button. But if I tried to decellerate using the "-" button it switched off and would not reset or reactivate at all. Pulling in, switching off and starting again reset the cruise control but when I tried the same thing again, off went the cruise control. Ironically I was on the way to the dealer for a service when it happened. He did a software update and service, confirmed the problem with cruise control and suggested I should book it in (which I still haven't done) I've only been out on the motorways again in the last week and lo and behold, the problem has gone away!! I tend to concur with umbertob and put it down to the gremlins. Rolling Eyes RRS TDV6 (gone)

Thanks for the replies chaps. The technician at Koenig gave me an explanation in that when the vehicle runs through its diagnostic checks the "bus" is not always quick enough to talk to the various systems and thus the system in question is not registered. It is a problem on a number of the RRS and they are looking at the software to try and come up with a solution. It goes in next monday so I will let you know what (if anything) happens

My bonnet doesn't flutter at over 100, but i've been told it tops out at under 120, so im guessing you have a SC / 4.4 V8 version mate?

Hi Kam. I have the 2.7 diesel. I am not sure but I think we have a different engine "map" here in Germany. I have had, to be exact, 198 kmh out of it and still had more rpm to go (about quarter of the tacho).
I have not "maxed" it out yet though.
It may also be something to do with the dealer from which I purchased it too. Auto Koening in Anzing are a main dealer for Ferrari, Aston, Rolls, Lambo, Bentley, Landrover and Morgan (honestly!!). They are also a tuning specialist (they had an XJ220 in when i was there that was there to be tuned!! Shocked) They also tune Lambos and Ferraris so they may have done something to it. It also explains why they give me a 5 liter Phaeton for a courtesy car Laughing
I went out the other day with the "Meister Technician" with him driving. I didnt know you could sling it around as much as you can (I thought I would need clean undies when I got back to the dealership!)

By the sounds of it Canaryman your car doesn't have a speed limiter. Here in the UK the TDV6 D3 is limited to 110mph and the RRS 120mph.

I have had my D3 bouncing off the speed limiter (theoreticaly obviously!!!!!) and it still shows around 1000rpm below red line.

I find the car very relaxing to drive at speed and very, very sure footed. The torque this engine churns out is stunning and realy comes into it's own at high motorways speeds especialy when using Command Shift to full effect. Currently: Carbon Black 535d
