I have to say that I am glad I havent got side steps fitted or I would never had cleared the snow around here. Munich was awesome. A metre of snow and all the cars parked overnight had even more pushed against them by the snowploughs.....very difficult to dig out. The advantage was that the snow was so deep, normal saloon cars could not get in any vacant spaces so I could switch to the low gear ratio, pump up the suspension and park it where I wanted. Problem was that when I got out I sank into the snow Embarassed . I hope my dealer dont try and give me a Phaeton tomorrow as RWD is not the best in this weather!

Have received my car back from the dealer. The problem with the cruise control seem to be something to do with the wiring loom connected to the switches on the steering wheel.
The max speed of the RRS TDV6 in Germany is 127mph (204kmh)

Great time at dealer watching the junior technicians dig out the £250,000 Rollers and Bentleys whilst having a snowball fight too!!!

Makes me wince to see when people dig out snow bound cars and then use a broom to brush the snow off the paintwork......may as well use a brillo pad! L319 D4 HSE

The cruise is not fixed as not enough technicians were there due to the snow we had. They replaced one of the wood bits on the door panel that was scratched when it was delivered though. I will have to rebook. I will get the Phaeton again when they look at the cruise control problem. Its not a bad car to be honest.
Yep, about 7 young technicians were using brooms to sweep the snow off the Rollers, Bentleys a couple of Lambos and a Ferrari. They were then having to maneouvre them around the car park using just the wing mirrors as the rear screens were frozen solid. They did not hit anything and they were a lot braver than me. (I have never seen a huge Rolls Royce with the wheels spinning, tail end going being driven and cheered by a bunch of late-teenagers). Still, they seemed to know what they were doing!

(The RR insignia on the wheel hubs is counter-balanced so whenever the wheels go round the RR bit is always the correct way up (wonder if its an optional extra?)

There's attention to detail for you. Mind you, I'd want that sort of attention to detail if I was spending over 200k on a car! Shocked

Funny thing is, I have been told on 3 occasions that my RRS is a "beautiful car" and that I am very fortunate to have one!!
The first chap was a chap that put my winter tyres on in Freising, the second one was a chap that lives a couple of doors down from our place in Austria (who is an off piste, mountain guide Shocked ) and another was a chap that just pulled over in my local town to have a look at it.
I have driven a few cars before now (I was a fleet manager for a good number of years) but never have I been stopped so often by passers-by to tell me what a fantastic car I have.
This baffles my wife as she thinks it is "butt-ugly"....time to change my wife I think. How much is a flight from Munich to Thailand? Razz

It comes standard. My dad used to have one. It ended up being unreliable and was bought back. He's got the new flying spur now. Much more reliable car, but it doesn't compare in niceness or flash to the Rolls.

Hello all. Took the RRS to Koenig on Monday. They still have the car as it needs a completely new "Tempomat"(Cruise control controller).
Bonnet has been tightened but I did not get a Phaeton....I was given a supercharged Jag XJ with 3000km on the clock!! No snow on the roads at mo so it is tremendous fun for a few days (especially as wife is away on business in Warsaw so I do not have to listen to "do we have to go so fast everywhere"....with me replying..."yes, because we can!!".

There is a trick to getting this sort of treatment (besides buying your car from a dealer like Koening). Put the loan car through a car wash, vac it out and always put in a couple of quids more fuel than you got it with. The whole lot will cost about 10 quid and half an hour, the dealer will respect your efforts and you will be treated better (I wonder what I will get next time?)

Has anyone used any of these "clay bar" things to remove tar spots, etc from the paintwork on the lower part of the doors and bumpers?? (thought I would ask as I have tried loads of different products and nothing seems to work particulary well so it is the clay bars or Vim Razz )
