It depends on the terms of the policy. I too have protected no claims and am allowed 2 claims before my NCB shrivels up and dies. A lot of insurers now provide the option of a guaranteed NCB, which obviously hikes the cost up a little but you can have "unlimited" claims without it affecting your NCB. Check your policy or give your insurers a ring - they should be able to clear it up.

I am going to get a quote from LR - generaly I have heard they are expensive; however when I add the cost of my current policy (relatively cheap) and add the cumpulsory tracking device, and paid out for Gap, it will add another £8/900 to the overall cost of insuring the car anyway.....effectively well over double my current premium

NFU is cheaper especially if you do a lot of miles. It includes GAP for the first 2 years, unlimited mileage and off road cover |

Nicely done, ST - who are your current insurers out of interest?

Direct Line Shmoogle....One other real bonus is the fact that LR insurance do any repairs through the dealer network whereas Direct Line use 'approved' specialists.

Interesting ST, you should have insisted on it going through the dealer network. Generally for premium vehicles the manufactureres will only provide you with the corrosion warranties if the work is performed by a dealer approved shop rather than insurer approved. You therefore in my mind have the right to insist on it being done the dealer approved shop. HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory)

Fair questions raised Rob, had all of this out before the car went in - Audi do support full waranty for all but the most serious accident repairs if done through approved insurance repair centre's etc.

One of the benefits different to other policies I have had is that the courtesy car provided whilst any repairs are being carried out is allocated for the duration of the repair - not just 14 days as with Direct Line.....many other nice touches like this.
