Well if it is the said water hammer noise in the DR system the quick way to cure it would be a drop in system pressure - as you would with your water supply. The problem there is that one of the factors in the design of the system would be the weight of the vehicle so it would be far less efficient. The noise is being generated I beleive because the valves in the valve control body are moving too fast for the fluid to keep up or the fluid transition is too fast for the valve to keep up. To rectify the noise I guess would probably be a re-design on the valve block and pump, maybe even other parts aswel, but then your up against the typical Ford attitude that has been for the last decade, it is down to cost and to state on the Technical Bulletin that it is just a characteristic of the system operation and there is no fault - means they don't intend curing it because of the cost if they can get away with it. I suspect it will be erradicated on the next generation - Model year 8 1/2 or maybe model year 09. They need to realise we have paid good money for the cars and we do not expect them to come with this type of optional extra free of charge. It is not acceptable. You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.
