United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Cairns Blue

I had a similar noise from my last TdV6, which did not have active suspension, new tdv8 has it bad, the car has now been into garage 5 times and had all the anti roll equipment changed. The car is returning to the garage for a longer stay next week and they have been told not to return the car unless the noise is deleted. Trying to explain this away by telling you it is a characteristic of the car is not making me any happier. Censored Censored 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

Well if it is the said water hammer noise in the DR system the quick way to cure it would be a drop in system pressure - as you would with your water supply. The problem there is that one of the factors in the design of the system would be the weight of the vehicle so it would be far less efficient. The noise is being generated I beleive because the valves in the valve control body are moving too fast for the fluid to keep up or the fluid transition is too fast for the valve to keep up. To rectify the noise I guess would probably be a re-design on the valve block and pump, maybe even other parts aswel, but then your up against the typical Ford attitude that has been for the last decade, it is down to cost and to state on the Technical Bulletin that it is just a characteristic of the system operation and there is no fault - means they don't intend curing it because of the cost if they can get away with it. I suspect it will be erradicated on the next generation - Model year 8 1/2 or maybe model year 09. They need to realise we have paid good money for the cars and we do not expect them to come with this type of optional extra free of charge. It is not acceptable. You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

Germany 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

I think it is the same problem.
There is no rattle when driving straight line. This problem should not be on 08.05 models. I have heard.

I could hear the "water pump" phenomena especially when I drive around corners and on mountain streets.
I was driving 100 kms last weekend in the swiss alps. and it was really awful and disturbing all the time....

But i could hear it only on left suspension side. Not on the right one. May be it is because of the left hand model for Germany.
Is it not possible to change the oil or fluid for the DR system ???

Or what can i do ? is it always only one one side.

Welcome to the club.
