Germany 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Finally got my TDV8 MY08.5

Hi to all forum members,
I am joining the forum since 1 year already and I would like to thank you for all the informations & tips.
I finally got my TDV8 MY 08.5 last week before christmas. (TDV8 badge & elect. steering adjustment, etc)
I can only say - what a great car !!
I had ordered Java Black with Alpaca. I must wait for almost 6 month because of the DPF.
No it's here and i have to run in the engine for 1000 km.
Quality is also OK I think.
In Germany we still get Contis as summer tires on the 20s, because I have heard that on MY08.5 the Pirellis are now standard.

Hi Chris, congrats on the TDV8, it maybe worth you checking the tire wall for the M/S stamp (mud & snow) if it's on there it will save you a lot of €'s Speed Limits! not where I live!

I picked up my MY08.5 TDV8 on Friday. After two years of TDV6 ownership, I'm amazed at the difference. It's instantly familiar, as you would expect, but it just feels so different to drive. The engine makes a huge difference of course, but I also suspect the Dynamic Response makes a big difference. It is uncanny the way you can go around corners and roundabouts and the car stays completely flat, yet it is supple and compliant over bumps and sleeping policemen.
So far, very pleased Thumbs Up
Oh, and it sounds great.

Tks. for your e-mails.
Steve: My Conti 20s summer tyres do not have any M/S marking. I was wondering because the contis are sport contact.
But I bought already winter tyres in 20s. Also Conti. Winter Cross contact.

How about running in the engine/car. What will be the best ? First 500kms with max 2500 rpm. Then 3000 rpm max. Or what are your suggestions.

The tyres that get fitted depend on what is next on the rack on the production line, unless you have specified a certain brand at ordering time. Land Rover uses Continental, Pirelli and Goodyears for the RRSport so you could have got a set of any of those. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
