Floor mats pre & post MY2008

So, what's the difference between the MY2008 rubber mats and the previous MYs rubber mats?

Marshalls have different sets available on Ebay with different p/ns:

Anyone tried to move their pre-08 mats into their new MY08 car and found they don't fit? Question

Seems the same is the case with the carpet mats too! Confused

OK soup's a bit hot .....................

The mat

The footwell hook

Together

Voila!
I don't know why they did it as I never had a problem with the mats in the v6 sliding in the footwell as they had velcro like small hooks on the underside - maybe there were complaints about the very expensive pure wool-a-like carpets being damaged Mr. Green 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Not sure it even needed doing, but I suppose somebody high up made enough noise.

You have a fair amount of stuff in your FL2 that the RRS doesn't have... that is the benefit of having a car which came along a while after the RRS Wink

They have something called springs behind each wheel on a Freelander2......................... cannot for the life of me think what they are for, maybe it's something primitive that cars used to use to dampen out bumps or something. I must say it's better than the previous fixing which was a real hit or miss affair. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Strange that the carpet mats go on top of that hook and use the traditional method of fixing. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone
