Navigation Software

Hi,

Has the latest software, got the split screen functionality? Mine's going in to the dealer, and would like to know what the latest software and OEM is in advance, before they fob me off Question

Thanks,

Ikey

I don't have that feature, yet had it on my 7 series, which was earlier than my Sport.

When you say split screen do you mean 2 maps displayed at the same time meaning you can have one in one orientation and zoom level and the other on a totally different setting?

If so it's always had it. When the map is up press the white box button in the bottom left, you then have a few different choices of split screen.

There's no difference in the actual layout of the system between old models and newer ones.

If I've got the wrong end of the stick then give me a bit more detail and I'll try to help? TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

LOL, not wrong at all

For instance you can have the map/tmc one side and the turn by turn overview on the other, or as you say, map/radio information.....

also.........

There is alsoa difference in the 2d/3d effect,

Cheers

That isn't possible in my 2008MY system, I can have a split screen with 2 scales of map (which seems a bit pointless to me) or full screen map which then shows junctions in large scale with throute across them superimposed on it but no radio info - that's easily visible on the radio screen just below the Satnav!
One thing I do find irritating is that when the adaptive cruise control is set I can only have the set speed or the distance to the car in front displayed in the small screen in the instrument binnacle, I loose the normal info display and the little "i when I get the warning bongs. I have to disengage the cruise to see what the info is! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You can also press on the warning triangle on the map and get the info about it. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh
