URGENT Storm Surge Warning

Guys, anyboby who lives in the East Anglia/Norfolk/Kent coastal areas and the low lying parts of Belgium and Holland should be warned that in the next 24 hours and especially round about high tide/ 0700/0800 GMT tomorrow tides are forecast to be between 2 and 3 METRES (ie up to 9 feet) higher than normal. The UK environment agency are giving warnings on their website that there is likely to be severe flooding with damage to property in low lying areas. The cause of this is a very deep depression that has tracked north of the North of Scotland this evening and is sending abnormally high waves into the North Sea. More info here www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/flood/floodwarning

2-3mtres above normal is a huge variant on normal storm surges for the UK and Low Countries> The Thames Barrage and the Floodgates along the length of the Thames are being closed this evening as a precaution against severe flooding in London 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Haven't heard of any property damage up north but all the ferries were cancelled and all the major bridges in Scotland including both the Forth and Erskine Bridges have been closed all day to cars with caravans, cars with roof boxes, high-sided vehicles and articulated trucks. The A83 Rest and Be Thankful road from Arrochar to Cairndow has again been closed due to further landslips - 3rd time in the last week. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It's been pretty breezy up here today, but it has been a lovely autumnal day too with clear blue skies and loads of sunshine, even though it has been a bit chilly! Even managed a couple of hours of fast and furious windsurfing on Loch Lomond this afternoon, my first sail since the first week of June! It will be pretty cool tonight but no frost is forecast. I believe there is a comet about that is visible to the naked eye so if there isn't too much light pollution
you might see it tonight. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You're OK Martin, unless the Thames Barrage fails in which case it will come down all your local rivers to the coast and a few folks in London will get extremely wet!!!!
It's the shallow North Sea that is the problem, the waves cannot get round North Foreland and through the Dover Strait. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Clear and very cold here , the weather men say no frost tonight but it's already down to +1 in my garden!
Can see the comet very clearly with the naked eye but it's better with binoculars - even though I have 3 street lights near the house, once your eyes get used to the dark it is quite visible about 15 degrees above Capella 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
