Guys, anyboby who lives in the East Anglia/Norfolk/Kent coastal areas and the low lying parts of Belgium and Holland should be warned that in the next 24 hours and especially round about high tide/ 0700/0800 GMT tomorrow tides are forecast to be between 2 and 3 METRES (ie up to 9 feet) higher than normal. The UK environment agency are giving warnings on their website that there is likely to be severe flooding with damage to property in low lying areas. The cause of this is a very deep depression that has tracked north of the North of Scotland this evening and is sending abnormally high waves into the North Sea. More info here www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/flood/floodwarning

It's been pretty breezy up here today, but it has been a lovely autumnal day too with clear blue skies and loads of sunshine, even though it has been a bit chilly! Even managed a couple of hours of fast and furious windsurfing on Loch Lomond this afternoon, my first sail since the first week of June! It will be pretty cool tonight but no frost is forecast. I believe there is a comet about that is visible to the naked eye so if there isn't too much light pollution

You're OK Martin, unless the Thames Barrage fails in which case it will come down all your local rivers to the coast and a few folks in London will get extremely wet!!!!

No not heard anything either, it was just the warning I heard on the BBC breakfast show this morning, forecast for here is 90km/h wind gusts and the high tides on the north cost and Holland.
