I agree with his, I have a TDV8 march 2007 with the same problems and LR will do or cannot do anything about this

WARNING - DOES YOUR FRONT SUSPENSION KNOCK?

Hi. I have a 2008 model year vehicle, a great car.......but, the suspension knocks at the front. The car is at the dealers who have told me that the parts they need (not specified) are on back order which suggests to me that the part manufacturer is re-designing the parts to stop them knocking. I have been told that the vehicle is safe even though it is "track rod end" related. Looks like I am part of an elite club of owners with a similar problem and the club is growing.

I have owned nine Land Rovers or Range Rovers over the last ten years (high mileage driver) and the dealer has always been very good, so I am expecting a fix on this.............just not sure when and nor is the dealer.

I use Guy Salmon at Coventry - well worth the extra drive and on most occasions they will "collect and deliver" so no hassle. They have told me today that parts will be in next week - sounds promising so far..............

Hi all - 2007 spec 2.7TDV6 HSE with Dynamic Response. Knocking started around 4000 miles, and got progressively worse until I could feel it banging through the floor under my feet at around 4300 miles! Dealer gave me the "charactaristic of the vehicle" guff (or TADTS if anyone from SELOC is here!) to start with, but armed with editied highlights of this set of posts I convinced them, politely but firmly, to undertake the software update and D bush replacements suggested by "The Voice Of Reason".

Car was returned beautifully valeted, but with no other obvious changes, and still banging like a b'stard...

On returning to the dealership, and taking a second technician out in the car (difficult as the pristine tarmac of the city centre roads nearby make it sound nowhere near so bad as the B and minor roads where I live) I was advised that the anti-roll bar D bushes needed replacing. "What, the ones you did last week?" I asked....

They finally admitted that software update had been done but bushes left. One pair of £6 bushes later under warranty and LR have a happy customer, with a car that drives like it cost the thick end of 50 grand again...

Moral - persist - the fix works if executed properly!! http://www.black-code.co.uk

How about the repair status for the dynamic respobnse knocking.
I do have a brand new TDV8 NY 08.5 and after 1500 kms the "knocking problem" appears on right front side.
For me really unacceptable and inbelievable that LR delivers brand new cars still with this problem. Sad
What can/should i do..... Is there already a solution and some new parts to replace. I think no - because the car was delivered just before christmas.
I am really frustrated. My first RRS....

The topics below all have one thing in common. They all report and discuss the same FAULT! Yes a FAULT that has never been rectified by Land Rover. If you have a S/C or 2007 onward TDV6/TDV8 HSE, then your car is fitted with DYNAMIC RESPONSE and is likely to develop a knocking noise which sounds like 'water pipe hammer knocks' coming from the area of the front suspension. If this is the case, then your car has a FAULT with the DYNAMIC RESPONSE system and, if like the high number of owners below, your dealer can't/won't fix it, then at least insist your dealer reports this 'water pipe hammer knock' noise to Land Rover as a FAULT, using an Electronic Product Quality Report or EPQ Report. STRENGTH IN NUMBERS.

Chris,

Insist your Dealer replaces the Anti Roll bar bushes and don't allow them to fob you off Exclamation

This is very unlikely to be anything to do with the DR Exclamation TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Martin/VA,

I think we need to seperate this Warning for the DR problem from the new issue as I think members are getting confused.

Which is what now appears to be an Anti Roll Bar Bush problem or possibly Track Rod Ends. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Gents - the symptoms are similar/identical - apologies for getting my terminology confused between my cars, but my car DOES have DR and IS now silent following the DR software update and the anti-roll bar bush replacement (after all, the DR system does alter the anti-roll bar torsion!) - my post above is now corrected. http://www.black-code.co.uk

But how about 08.05 models.
They should already have the software upgrade Confused
Or do I have to replace the bushes on my brand new car.....

Well having suffered in silence on the Forum for the last 3 months whilst contributing with a fair degree of knowledge.

I can now report that at last my knocking/rattling front suspension problem appears to have gone thanks to the Dealer doing the repair yesterday that I asked them to do on Day 1 three months ago. Rolling Eyes

New anti roll bar bushes fitted and the noise and vibration has gone Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Fingers crossed.

My thanks to all the members whom I have been quizzing during that time. Thumbs Up TDV6 - gone
