Early models did have a problem with the steering column but I thought this had been sorted. A simple solution might be your tracking or wheel balance. Keep us informed please. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Seems to be most noticeable at 1750 revs with the engine under load. Dealer now wants the car for a week while they investigate....didn;t think i would be coming some familiar with the service department just 2 weeks into ownership |

My new TDV8 sometimes does that, vibrates under acceleration but i just put it down to the road surface and the fact that i have slightly larger tyres than standard, it doesn't worry me to much, but if it got worse and more frequent then i would be getting it back to the dealers.

yes Cliff my TDV6 was chipped, and yes the difference between the standard V8 and the tuned V6 is still miles apart, but then the chipped V8 is just incredible, 50 mph to 120 is very quick indeed havent had it past 130, ran out of track |

If you do a search you'll see that this problem is quite pervasive... Many, many owners have the same issue and LR does not have a solution. Unfortunately, they can't just come out and say this... instead they blame it on your tires, wheels, steering rack, etc. I've yet to hear of someone that has had the problem, and found a true fix for it. Everyone who has bought new tires, has only had the problem reappear months later. ![]() Welcome to LR ownership. ![]() |

Only suggestion would be if something is out of alignment -Ask the dealers if they have done the settle treatment - slack off all mounting points and drive the car around to alloy all ancillaries and drive line components to move into a more natural position. Then back on the ramp and tighten it all up again.

So they all do it! Well the 2.7 diesels that is. The test driver at the dealerships sat alongside me whilst i replicated the problem and then he confirmed that he could also feel the vibration is the steering wheel. I was then invited to drive any RRS in the dealership with the same engine. I randomly picked another RRS and the vibration is there! Wheel size alters the frequency and the rev range where it is most noticable, but essentially it looks like the engine is just badly paired with this vehicle. Other engines do not have this "feature". Comments? |

Not sure... it's not widely reported on here as a common complaint, but obviously the posters on this thread have all suffered to various extents. Something's not quite right obviously, let's see what the dealer has to say about it. |

hey I have a 08 rrs hse, when I am driving the car and especially when it revs up to 2500 rpm, I feel vibration then soon it goes away when the rev 3000 and above rpm I think it is the same problem, dealer said nothing wrong with the car it is hardly noticeable but I feel it while holding the steering wheel, strange .... you hear the enging smothly but when it hits 2500 rpm you hear another sound from the engine like vom vom vom vom before it changes gear and it is fine again you feelit a bit in the steering wheel........ |
