X5-V6D SPORT

Hello to everyone.

I currently drive a x53.0d sport and have the new x5 on order but i fancy a change, please can anyone tell me if i will be happy with the v6d sport regarding performance or should i be going for the v8d.

what worries me on paper is the 3 seconds 0-60 differance between the x5 and v6d.

cheers simon

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Welcome to the forum Simon
Basically, If you can afford to go for the TDv8 HSE (£54000), then go for it, if not then a chipped TDv6 HSE will make up the performance difference between the BM and the RRS. BUt the TDv8 is the preferred option..........................
Most of us (including quite a few ex X5 & ex Toureg owners) have unchipped TDv6's and are quite happy with the performance 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thank Tim

your right a chip maybe the answer, the £1000 back from bm will pay for that, what sort of bhp increase should i expect.

The dealer i have contacted told me in HSE i only have 2 choices in interior trim rodium and sg walnut is this true.

There is supposed to be cherry wood too, but it was not offered to me as an option on a HSE TDV8 tho it is in the MY08 brochure

In best LR tradition they haven't yet published the 2008 model year brochures as far as I know! I tried to get one from the local dealer last week but they were working on their online ordering system! Even the LR website isn't up to date. I have a PDF with the 2008 specs somewhere and will post it in my gallery shortly 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yep it is a pdf brochure I downloaded from the LR site. The owner manuals (handbook) are available from the Owners information web site

You can have Rhodium with stiched leather inserts on the doors, or straight grained walnut (similar to the 07 cherry) or stained zebrano which is similar to the old oak in 1st editions.

Hope this helps Wink TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

I've seen 2 new shape X5's in Paphos and I have to say it is a lovely looking car!

One black 4.8, one silver 3.0d.

Looks a whole lot better in the metal than in mags.

4.8 sounded lovely

Most probably a better drive than the RRS too...... Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Personally speaking.. I previously owned a chipped TDV6, drive a 3.0D X5 as my work car and now own a TDV8. The chipped TDV6 doesn't come near the sheer grunt, power and sound of the TDV8. The 3.0d X5 is a quick 4x4 but, as Tim states, if you can afford the TDV8 then there really is no comparison. 2010 Discovery 4
