The oldest you'll get is just over 2 years so if I were you I'd get a 55 plate and if you have any problems they should rear their ugly head within the warranty period. Resale is a difficult thing to predict but at a guess a 4 year old SC with 40000 on the clock should fetch low £20k region. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Braider, don't forget there is also the 4.4l V8 without the S/C - of course the performance isn't the same as the S/C, but fuel consumption is a little less frightening and it was a rather unpopular in this country so suffers equally dire depreciation to the S;/C. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks guys, am in a real dilemma as although the SC is very tempting and is now quite a good used buy I suspect the overall cost of 2-3 years ownership of a TDV8 might be cheaper; tales of woe from other members SC depreciation is scaring me off!! |

The worst of the depreciation will have taken place already on the SC, yes the rate of depreciation will still be higher than the TDV8 but like you said in your first post you only live once so if you can take a bit more of a hit then why not go for the SC.

1. Well, you'll get around 17mpg using your fancy new radar cruise control locked at 80 MPH. That will be a range of around 250 miles. £70 to fill up from empty. 2. Pass - Crystal ball gazing. Get a warranty. Might cost you around £1000. THink of the savings you made on buying second hand!. 3. £25K. They are still losing £1000 a month! You will love the car. I bought mine second hand too. Don't forget to keep your fridge on to chill the beers for the guys in the back. (There is a fully loaded SC in todays Sunday Times for £34,995.) 2022 P440e AB |

My RRS S/C is still for sale ...... [ check out the for sale section ] It has only done 17k .. has all the latest stuff and more.... 4 new tyres and one new spare... it is mint. .... I too came from an S4 [ cabriolet ] Braider. I can't do a p/x .. but if you need finance .... then KAM from this site is simply the best on rate/service..... even if you buy from a dealer or non LR product.......
