If it's a matter of time and money go for a TDV6 and get it chipped. The TDV8 is a far better drive but difficult to get 2nd hand. Get the RRS now rather than wait. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

TDv8's are available 2nd hand - usually dealer's ex demo's but you will pay almost full list price for them, even for private sales as there is a waiting list for factory orders and they are in demand. My local dealer has a Java with ivory leather TDv8 on the showroom floor at the moment and if you are quick you will get it before they register it as a demo car but they want £54030 for it - comes with tow pack and rubbermats for that price! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
