United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

I hope Land Rover are not just sitting back and making no press comment. In this instance a full page statement in the press wouldn't go amiss.

It's OK sponsoring sporting events and giving away a free D3 to worthy charities, but their PR people need to be putting their case for the defence every time negative and inaccurate statements are made in the press and on TV. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Andy, well done on the letter, I couldnt of put it better myself.
I just watched the programme tonight, (sky+'ed it).
What a load of cack. Im sure those 3 "4x4 owners" were actors. How scripted, when the guy in the Landcruiser got shouted out by another driver, BOLX, Just another ITV scam, just like the phone in quizzes theyve admitted to skanking people with. Ive only ever had admiring glances for my RRS, (thats also why I have a tracker fitted with Driver recog!!!!!).

Scotland

The programme was a load of nonsense... (the next in the series is on tonight Shocked )
I wrote to the ITV, here's my two pennies worth.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to bring your attention to my general disapproval and discontent with the programme broadcast at 9:00pm on ITV1 on the above date, following the journalist John Sergeants battle against the 4x4 vehicle in urban areas.

The heart of my problem lies in the one-sided and biased nature of the programme, which cast yet another dark shadow on to the already affronted 4x4 market.
I write to you because I believe that there were a number of inaccuracies, omissions, false accusations and general misconceptions spread deeply throughout the hour-long programme, chief among which was the proposed theory that owners of these vehicles could 'make do' with a lesser 'small car'.

I feel that it would not be worth your time or mine if I were to begin detailing now the several issues I had involved with the show, however if that is what it deemed necessary then I will willingly write back with a sufficient list of errors and problems.

The debate over 4x4 ownership has mounted to the level where it now involves politics, democracy, freedom of choice, environmentalism and the safety and security of the general public, and the content of "Driving Me Crazy" can only add insult to injury on a matter of such delicacy. As I'm sure the producers of the programme are aware, the voices of those in favour of the 4x4 are finding it increasingly difficult to have their voices heard, in a media where there is a constant bombardment of anti-4x4 propaganda. I trust you will understand that there are a number of valid and reasonable arguments on the other side of the debate, ranging from the need of a spacious and practical family vehicle, to those who's lifestyles depend on the 4 wheel drive ability, and so what I am proposing is that ITV put in place a broadcast to show the other point of view, which would help restore a degree of balance.

I hope that through writing, my points will be considered, and I leave you with my faith that ITV have not jumped wholly on to the anti-4x4 bandwagon, and have left space for a fundamentally fair balance of debate.

Yours faithfully,
***** ******
