Given fibreoptic cable is made of glass, I'd want a "pinched" cable replaced imho.

Which one though, if the fibre-optic network on the RRS is anything like the system we have onboard the "fibre-optic" cable isn't one strand but hundreds of them............................... we have started to rip them out and replace the systems with good old fashioned wires as the fibreoptic cables couldn't cope with the marine environment and the signal concentrators or whatever they are called that send the messages around the system didn't like the changes of temperature and humidity we get onboard despite being in climate controlled spaces. Sometimes sweet and simple lowtech is better than the latest hi-tech when the nearest techy is 3000 miles away and you cannot get the engine to start or a picture on any of the control station monitors 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zambezi Silver

To be more precise he told me that the light inside the fiber optic cable was being pinched, which made all the modules shut down leading to the false fault messages, no satnav etc. I guess that is also supposed to explain the car not restarting (the engine would not even "turn").
