6230 software level

I've been fighting the same battle with the PTI cradle and a Nokia 6320 that many others apparently have. It works OK but only shows "memory empty" when I try to access stored numbers.

It appears from other posts that contrary to what Land Rover claim the version 5.35 software is not supported - but it seems that earlier version do work. Can someone who has a version that works tell me what thir software level is (dial *#0000#) - then I can start a new quest of trying to downgrade my phone! Thanks very much.

I tried 2 6230 one with v5.35 and had the same problems with the phone book. Bought another one working on v4.? all the functions worked but would crash all the time. Have now bought a more basic Nokia for the cradle and I'm delighted with the system. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Maybe it's not he s/w version after all.. if you've had problems with 5.35 and I haven't, leads you to believe that something else is dodgy.

OK, I am now totally baffled by this. First, thanks to all for the replies - it's taken me ages to pick them up, sorry about that.

Because I couldn't get 5.35 to work I took it back to the dealer, tried another phone - it worked perfectly. That one had 5.50 so I got my phone upgraded...still didn't work. How can you engineer something that is clever enough to distinguish between two identical phones and only work in one case?

Took it back to the dealer again, he fiddled around with my phone and made it work. I went home happy, next day...it wouldn't.

I think it is something about *how* I put the phone in the cradle or whether it is on or off before it is inserted, but I can't pin it down. The only issue is whether I can get the phone's address book displayed on the car screen - everything else works perfectly.

Any clues????? Thanks.

This baffled me aswell to such an extent I bought a different Nokia phone which is a permenant fixture in the cradle. All call are diverted to it and everything works well. See my previous posts for info. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

so are you forwarding your calls to that number or are you just changing the sim everytime you get in the car?

I dont understand, are you paying for another number and just not paying for call forwarding? Or are you only paying for one cell phone number?

I pay a monthly fee for 500 minutes plus a fee for each handset each with their own number. Calls between these handsets are free.

Example. Call comes into my main handset, either it's switched off or I don't answer. Call then diverted to RRS phone. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Now that you mention this, there is a note in the approved phones document that says you should ensure the phone is switched on before you insert it into the cradle. That said, I don't think it would be possible to switch on a 6230 after you've put it in the cradle anyway - the on/off switch on the top of the phone gets covered by the cradle release button.

I have been here and had these issues, see this thread:

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p...hlight=pti

I have 2 phones and only one would work, tried swapping cradles, this seemed to work for one day only, then failed again. Turns out the Nokia software can become corrupted no matter what version, the only solution I found was a replacement phone from my provider, have not had the problem since.

For your interest my software versions are 05.24 and 05.35 and BOTH phones work fine now. L319 D4 HSE
