Frankly Pelyma, I'm shocked! Wink

In the US, while the NRA still hold an immense sway over the govt nothing there will change regardless of how many of these shootings occur. I expect Ozzy Osbourne/Marilyn Manson/Metallica are already waiting for the news to come out that the gunman was a fan of their music. It's usually their fault.

I know next to nothing about guns, but imho I'd say that however strict you make your gun laws, Joe Bloggs will always be able to get his hands on one. The thing to do is like Pelyma says - raise the curtain on them and make sure the right education is out there. Even then it's virtually impossible to stop this sort of thing from happening. If 9/11 can happen, anyone can walk into a public building and start shooting.

I do feel for the families of the kids involved though... Crying or Very sad

When I was clearing out my grandmother's house prior to selling it for her a few years back, and well after the handgun ban became effective, I found that she had 2 rather nice little ladies pistols hidden in a box under her bed............................. When I asked my parents to ask her about them she told us that she had bought them when she lived in Kenya and had taken them from there to Aden and Ceylon when she and my mother's step father lived and worked in the Colonies. She hadn't handed them in because she felt in the 1990's when she lived in Hampshire that she was in far more danger and was more frightened of being burgled/ robbed in the night in her own house than she had ever felt living in strange foreign places with bandits. I was left with the problem of disposing of 2 pistols that should have been handed in to the police. I found another rather watery way of disposing of them somehwere off the end of Southsea pier................... they should be well rusted and useless by now!
Strange thing was I don't know how she intended to harm anybody as I never found any ammunition to go with the pistols and they didn't have any bullets in them either! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It is quite common for firearms to be found in this way Tim, best advice is to hand them in at the Police station, they are then melted down.

I was listening to Ian Wright on Talksport whilst travelling home form work tonight. I have to say his views on this subject were surprisingly extreme but I think I agreed with him wholeheartedly.

There is absolutely no excuse for a gun culture in this country. The police should be given the power to stop and search anyone they feel is acting suspiciously, without reason. If that person is found to be carrying a firearm they should b taken away and birched. Then locked away for a very long time, giving the guilty person time to think about their actions.

Anyone found guilty of murder should serve life imprisonment - A minimum twenty five years.

People like Hindly, Brady, Huntley, West or any other low life scum that are found guilty of pre meditated murder. People who show no remorse for their actions should be sentenced to the death penalty.

Maybe this type of action will make a few of these teen gang members stop and think about the consequences of their actions before picking up a fire arm. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. I believe we dont have enough legal description of the crime of murder - in its current form I wouldn't agree with the death penalty, however if we had more defined levels (i.e first, second, third, forth degree of murder - first being beyond dispute etc) then I'd support it too

Also, have been thinking about my comment on 'banning all guns' too - the more I consider this, the more I realise humans are ingenious enough to just find another way - as others said already, the guns aren't the problem

Just my thoughts

Yep i would agree kaine about the murder ratings, but if the death peneality was introduced it would certainly make people think more about there actions

And yes you are right about humans finding another way, but removing guns would help the situation some of my Previous cars
