More info on MY 2008 changes

I tried to post this in the above sticky, but the thread is locked. Anyway, a North America dealer on rr.net received and posted a bulletin regarding upcoming changes for MY2008. Note that some of this stuff may apply to US market only (powerfold mirrors, for example, are already standard everywhere but here...), thanks British_Rover for sharing:

2008MY starts at the end of this month and UK dealers don't seem to have any detailed specs such as those published for the USA or up to date brochures - just prices and extended delivery dates for the TDV8 Exclamation Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

You're welcome. But where have you been? I, and others, have been banging on about this since Land Rover announced, prior to the Geneva Motor Show, that 30 April date is to be the start of 2008MY and giving out the most basic details regarding the changes to the RRS!

1) Ebony centre console
2) Electric lumbar support (thought this was already on UK models)
3) No cost option of dark stained Zebrano wood trim
4) Tan coloured leather option

Whether there is more, no one seems to know. I did catch sight of the sample Zebrano trim at my dealers, but even this I had to ask for, as it was being kept in the office out of sight!

Personally I don't get it. Land Rover don't seem to want anyone to know anything about their vehicles. It's almost as though they are saying "order one and wait and see what turns up for your money - trust us"! Their brochures are out of date, their web site is out of date and their dealers seem to know less than I do! Banging Head

Another rant over. Thumbs Up Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

RRSjo if they released all the details about the 2008MY 6 months before the cars go on sale, nobody would buy a 2007MY would they? Then LR would have to heavily discount remaining stock to shift them and then you would complain about a) how your car's value has plummeted and b) how many cheap RRS's there are around. I'm not trying to support LR, because their info flow to customers and potential customers is utterly C Censored p. Recently I received an info pack for the Freelander............................. I received an info pack for the Freelander1 which has been out of production for nearly 6 months and a year after asking I am STILL waiting for the brochure about G4 accessories for RRS, which LR tell me is available when I call Customer Services. My local Dealer doesn't have a single brochure for the new Defender, not even a colour chart but has boxes and boxes of the accessories catalogue. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Agree. I can understand not announcing 2008MY until the beginning of March in readiness for the Geneva Motor Show, but 2008MY starts in two weeks time now! My point was that dealers don't seem to know what is being changed, LR's website is hopelessly out of date and LR are even still sending out brochures which seem to be to 2006MY details!

The first time we will know what all the changes are is when someone takes delivery of a 2008MY model. For example will it have power steering wheel adjustment as per the USA - and before Brian posts it "Don't ask me, I'm only a clown (customer)" Exclamation

Another rant over Thumbs Up Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.
