Had a puncture in my driver's front Conti 4x4 yesterday, and tyre is completely ruined - I had to run it for some distance to find somewhere safe to pull off the country lane I was on!

19k on the clock, so tyres were nearing end of life anyway, so I'm faced with some choices - replace 1, 2 or 4, and whether to go for a budget brand and save some much needed cash, or whether the TDv8 really needs 'premium' tyres.

I rang around a few places today - nowhere local had anything in stock, so I may well be buying from the web anyway, or a mobile fitter. Spare is currently on, but its a 50mph limit apparently so it can't stay on for long. Fortunately the car isn't doing too many miles right now, since my new toy arrived...

Ideas?

Jampo, I have a set of part worn 20" Conti's from a RRS TDv8 that I would happily sell. At the moment I am running Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tyres on 19" rims so the Conti's are in my garage ready to go. The tyres are probably about 60% through their working life so I guess about £50 each delivered (ie £200 for all 4). Must sell the set though, afraid I cannot split the group. Let me know if this might be of interest.

If you are anywhere near to Newcastle, we could swap the whole sets of wheels and tyres (assuming you have standard 20" 10 spoke wheels) to save having the tyres removed then refitted to rims and save haulage costs.

My rims are in good nick, no offroad damage, just a bit of brake dust pitting and one stone chip. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini
