I can see that I am not the only one with that kind of problem. A few weeks ago I also took my car for a service (at that time my RRS was only 1 month old 3000km) because I had a problem-once with switching on the engine first thing in the morning so they checked the battery and alternator but both were ok. But as I could see they for sure disconnected the battery from the car/computer because when I picked up my car I had to set the time on the clock. After that service the car is using approx.10%-12% more fuel and also I have a feeling that it is maybe less "lively". Is that possible? 2008 RRS TDV8 HSE, Java black, Alpaca,..... |

It was just a standard 2 yr, 30k service, they didn't do anything other than the standard. I've mentioned it to them & said I'd run a couple of tankfulls through & see if it settled down. I can only summise they've updated the engine management system & somethings not right. HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory) 911GT3 (Guards Red, carbon interior) ElanSE (BRG) Panamera Turbo S Boxster S |

I'm amazed that you say this as I have just had my car returned from the dealer after a breakdown (more on that later) and a 2 year 30k service. My fuel consumption seems down since I got it back; although has never been good at about 24 average. I thought that it seemed less lively since the service too!

Did they adjust or do anything with the park brake or indeed the normal brakes during the service? After driving for a while without using brakes much, it might be wise to just feel the brake discs / park brake drums to see if they are getting hot, ie. meaning brake pads or shoes are dragging or sticking. This would obviously cause worse than normal fuel consumption. RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i |

Well I went in to see them end of last week. The categorically stated they had not touched the ECU during the service.

I haven't had mine in for service yet but it's done 5500 miles in 5 months and is still only getting 24 mpg - thought I'd be getting nearer 30..... Jaguar XKR Convertible
