I have now collected my 56 RRS, love it! Shouldn't the volume of the stereo reduce when reversing and the parking sensors are active? My wife has the stereo so loud that she can barely hear the beeping. In her old XC90 the volume of the stereo would reduce.

JJF701 - the radio does not interact with the sensors. The front sensors should automatically engage, get this done on warranty. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Just phoned the dealer and they said that they don't activate automaticly, you have to activate them otherwise they would be going off in traffic, the manual seems to state the same thing, you have to press the button on the dash or engage reverse. Seems a bit silly to me, I rarely get close enough to other vehicles to activate the parking sensors and would rather turn them off by the dash switch if I was. |

They are talking B k's - just point them in the direction of this site. Mine constantly beep in traffic unless I switch them off. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Could it be that the're set differently in the US? Did seem a bit strange to me. |

I'm sure they changed the way the front sensors worked in a model year change... might have been between 06/07. Back then I think the front PDC sensors activated only below a certain speed to stop them going off in moving traffic, but that would explain they went mental sat in a queue with bikes coming past etc.
