I believe this is good news, they will put money into the design and future of the product, track record speaks for it's self. Speed Limits! not where I live!

Worse than that, they may even resurrect the infamous City Rover !!! Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

A very good outcome for JLR indeed. As Tim has said, Tata are major world players, and very well funded. The alternatives were totally unacceptable. Mahindra did not want Jaguar and had to get propped up by Apollo who would have very soon divested themselves of Jag. One Equity, headed up by former Ford/BMW whizz kids had axes to grind and thought we were still in the early 1990's....What price acres of prime building land in Solihull and a labour-intensive Defender if they had been successful? Go figure. The unions would have preferred Ford to keep control, unwisely, but Ford are skint, period.

TB there are still loads of those City Rovers round these parts - they seem to be lasting really well, no rust on them and no fancy bits to ever go wrong! Must admit they all seem to be driven by the folks that used to buy the original square shaped Protons or won't buy a Honda Jazz or Civic because they are "Japanese" (they haven't forgotten the war and don't realise that Civics are built in Swindon) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I'm still surprised Ford haven't said ok we can save this sale if we can sell off one of the plants for housing and cut back on staff - maybe they will at the 11th hour Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate |
