I have been driving round with my towhitch in place this week and had no problems with the PDC. Today the ACC wouldn't engage - kept telling me "cruise not available" in the info screen when I tried to engage it........... I hope that it is just because the car hasn't been washed for a week and is very dirty.

My ACC was "salted" up, washed the car and made sure the black box was well cleaned and after a short test drive I have a working ACC..................... and a large stone chip on the bonnet from following a lorry that threw up a chipping which landed on the bonnet edge. Cannot win today! Couldn't find diesel in town either 2 x shell filing stations run dry, Sainsbury and Tesco run dry and finally last resort Morrison's Supermarket had 3 pumps out of 6 pumping diesel, just as well that I keep a "just in case" stock in the garage at home! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The AUX wiring is probably fairly near to some other oscillating power source - this noise happens in PC soundcards too if you select an input with nothing connected to it. I believe the socket acts an "aerial" and picks up the stray signals from the power source - once you plug something into it, this effect is removed. I seem to remember knowing the electrical reasons for this once, but can't recall them now...
