I have been driving round with my towhitch in place this week and had no problems with the PDC. Today the ACC wouldn't engage - kept telling me "cruise not available" in the info screen when I tried to engage it........... I hope that it is just because the car hasn't been washed for a week and is very dirty.

My ACC was "salted" up, washed the car and made sure the black box was well cleaned and after a short test drive I have a working ACC..................... and a large stone chip on the bonnet from following a lorry that threw up a chipping which landed on the bonnet edge. |

The AUX wiring is probably fairly near to some other oscillating power source - this noise happens in PC soundcards too if you select an input with nothing connected to it. I believe the socket acts an "aerial" and picks up the stray signals from the power source - once you plug something into it, this effect is removed. I seem to remember knowing the electrical reasons for this once, but can't recall them now... |
