Navigation system in sunlight

Hi,

I'm reading a automobile magazine and they say that the Nav system of the RRS is unreadable when the slightest ray of sunlight comes in. Confused

What's your experience with it?

I don't know if it will help but I'm getting Privacy Glass in the back.

Thanks a lot.

The privacy glass helps but it still does fade a bit under strong light from the front, still was perfectly readable Thumbs Up
At night it can be a bit bright, must have a look at toning it down. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Sure, they all fade a bit, my portable ViaMichelin becomes 100% unreadable in sunlight.

If I can still read it then it's ok Thumbs Up

It was Le Moniteur Automobile in Belgium who stated that the NAV system was useless in the slightest sunlight.

Try the Navigation Screen protector from SCREEN PATRONUS (Ebay USA). I have it and found out that indeed it does reduce glare by like 50% at noon on a hot sunny day (In Doha, this means "everyday" Big Cry) RRS 2007 HSE V8 * Buckingham Blue * Ebony Leather * Cooler Box * Sunroof * Navigation * PTI Bluetooth * Side Steps * Mud Flaps * Body Side Mouldings * V-Kool V70 Heat Insulation Glass Film * Clear Side Repeaters * Color-coded Side Vents + Grille + Door Handles + Door Mirrors * S/C Rear Decals + Door & Steering Emblems * S/C Exhaust Catbacks * Tasmod Sills * Nokia Cradle + Phone * 22" Stormers * 1st Edition Badge Very Happy

The ever present baby wipes should do this nicely. Long term, I would consider dipping your fingers in acid to remove the prints from your fingers... problem solved Thumbs Up

Longterm - well you could keep a thin cotton glove or a box latex disposable gloves int he car Josh, but they both seen a bit drastic - computer screen cleaner cloths might be better than baby wipes though. PC world sells them in a small sealed plastic bottle so they stay damp. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

If you have a COSTCO near you and are a member, They sell "Bausch & Lomb" glasses cleaners from the optician counter. These are brilliant for any optical surface as they don't leave any residue and work well on the touch screen of my Sat Nav, Don't be tempted by the cheaper brand (can't remember name) that they sell, they are crap. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
