Secret Seven or Famous Five ?

Well the great debate rages in the “Rupert Household” !

I, the right honourable “Mr Rupert” was, am & always will be a Secret Seven person.

”Mrs Rupert” however, claims that the Famous five were by far the superior group of adventurers. She just won’t accept that the Secret Seven were just better.

(But then what does she know, as she’s constantly talking me out of buying a HST Grille Rolling Eyes )

But anyway, on this Friday morning, I put it to you my fellow Ranger Rover Sporters..........

Secret Seven Bow down

Or

Famous Five Yawn

Eh…….books Jay !!

Enid Blyton books, from many, many years ago.

Although I think the Famous Five made it to TV, sometime in the 80’s.

Secret Seven were just way too cool for TV Cool

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Deaf ears I'm afraid Rupert Wink

I didn't like Famous Five as they were too jolly hockey sticks and all needed a good night out on the lash.

Didn't read the Secret Seven. I seem to remember reading a series of Alfred Hitchcock kid investigator books - can't remember what they were called, but they were based in and around LA if I remember.

A lot of good we are.

Hey Shmoogle !!

Agree about the Famous Five, they were a pack of pansies Laughing

After the Secret Seven I progressed onto the "Hardy Boys Mysteries".

Absolutely brilliant Thumbs Up

Never came across Alfred Hitchcock Investigator books though Confused

This all started when I was in the kids book section of our local book store the other. I was looking to see if the Secret Seven books or Hardy Boys were still available, as I would love to buy the set !

Wifey of course thought I was nuts, but then we started into the Secret Seven vs. Famous Five debate.

This is the Hitchcock thing, they have a Wikipedia entry:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Investigators

I used to have loads of them... I wonder if they're still in my parents attic? Confused

If the Famous Five had seven members they would be on a par with the Secret Seven, but they would then be the Famous Seven and as for the Secret Seven being secret - well how secret are their exploits, so they should be the Obvious Seven. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.
