Be direct - state don't you think there ought to be some compensation having spent £XX with you...

I bought a boot liner from a dealer - had them check battery furring - they flooded the ECU's (as I found when it went into lost my mind mode - doors locking unlocking, bongs, lights and alarms and stalled on their driveway) so when resolved i mentioned to the service manager that the least they could do was refund the mat payment and they did !!

..........No, I wouldn't be impressed either, in fact, I think I'd be asking for my money back. Tell them, the car, and their after sales (or in your case, at sale) service are far from what you had imagined a Premium Brand to be. Rolling Eyes .........Which dealer is it? They need their arses kicked from here to Novograd and back.

Remember the off-roading has changed.

It is no longer a demonstration for current owners, it is a pre-sales offer to tempt in prospective buyers. Centrally funded by LandRover, dealers are supposed to put forward prospective customers and the event is all around selling. LRE staff get a bit pee'd off when current owners turn up.

So as its a freebie anyway I would press your dealer for something that actually costs them in some way.

Sorry to hear about all of your woe's BermyAndy. Rest assured your motor is not "a Friday car". What your car is suffering from is called "Sh*Te delership support".

If the battery was drained flat whilst the car was being valeted, the low voltage would have thrown lots of electrical fault codes into the vehicles ECU's. The results of this were witnessed when all of the electrical systems slowly shut themselves down once a new battery was connected and the vehicle was driven away.

Before handing over the vehicle the dealership should have carried out a complete system cleardown and then checked for any remaining computerised fault codes. This would have ensured that the vehicle was safe for you to drive.

As a way of recompence I would definately go for the free service. The cost of servicing definately outways the cost of a day at an LRE centre or the cost of most after sales accessories. The money you save on the service could then be used to pay for a day's off roading and still leave change in your pocket. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

(from TB's saying)....a battery change now needs dealer support....wonder how it would react to a jump start?

TB is spot on, this is just poor dealer service. Leo the handbook tells you not to directly jump start but to charge the battery up with the other car then start, as I said earlier and TB said the car does not like a low battery

So, alternator fixed today, new battery put in. Drove home tonight and love it. Had use of a TDv6 and whilst it wasnt slow, the supercharged brings a big grin to my face. As well silly low mpg!!

As for the dealer - next years service free. Cant complain really, other than it should never have come to this, but i have the car and i am more than happy!!
