When you turn off the engine and/or remove the key from the ignition, radio playback kicks down to "Low power mode" to conserve battery, limiting your max volume output to "+ 20" I think, versus the usual + 35. When you hit that ceiling, you get a little battery icon and "Low power mode" displayed on the radio LCD. |

Yeah, sounds to me like a loose contact or wire somewhere, the radio unit no longer detects the engine running and key in the ignition, and cuts off to low power mode. First time I've heard of that, keep us posted on what the dealer finds out, if the problem reoccurs (it's a Land Rover, so you never know...) |

Spoke to the stealer today. he says it's nothing to worry about, it's to do with conserving power as Umberto said. If you leave your key in the ignition, as I did, for about 5 mins before starting, it drops the power on the radio volume to about 18, 20. After the engine has started it takes a little while for it to revert back to normsl. He said it's to conserve power for the vital parts of the engine if the battery was low.

Sounds like he fed you a tiny bit of BS here and there (takes a "little while" to get back to normal... You got lazy electronics on your Sport? Mine goes back to normal volume a split second after I crank the ignition!) but as long as it appears to be OK now, it's all good. |
