I wouldn't necessarily think that the 25mpg figure on the trip indicates the previous rapid life of the vehicle! The dealer has probably been out for a few short runs in it locally. Mine was at 23mpg when purchased and now is at 26mpg under brisk conditions.

We test drove it as soon as it came into the dealer (they hadn't touched it at all) so the 25mpg would have been fairly accurate I guess. |

Low mileage figures only means the throttle has been used a bit. If, like me, you overtake things and "make progress" you use fuel. Doesn't mean the suspension has been hammered - that would depend on the state of the roads driven over. Driving moderatly on a broken surface is probably putting more energy through the bushes than driving briskly on a smoother surface. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I didn't mean about 'driving briskly' on a smooth road, solely about braking hard which puts a lot of load on the front end and cornering hard which again will add premature wear and tear to bushes. I see people all the time drive around like blue bottles around dog 5hit.... Anyway....I will monitor the rattling and will get it sorted when we get it serviced (or sooner if it gets worse) |

Just had a chat with the servicing department at Range Rover and they said the front wishbone needs to be replaced. They said it's a common problem with Range Rover Sports, and changing the wishbone is the better option than just changing the bushes.

Just had the same conversation with the specialist I use, was told its too difficult to simply just replace the (£30) bushes so need to replace the £180 (each) front suspension arms, add labour costs of around £200 and tracking and you're up around £800!! Spoke to a couple if local dealers, hardwoods and Beadles, they said the same (but a bit pricier)! Had a good moan about it being ridiculous that you can't simply replace the bushes Annoyingly I knew of the issue when I bought the car but assumed it would be an easy fix. Guess you live and learn!!! Range Rover Sport HSE and for a bit of weekend fun a S1 Lotus Elise with a few track biased additions! |

If the dealers are saying that its to hard just to replace the bushes then I'm guessing it's not something I can do myself.... LR Defender 90 - gone

first challange is getting the control arms off without cutting them Then you need to press the bushes out with a Hydraulic press and press the new ones back in. Its not a open heart surgery but unless you have the tools not really straight forward, my mate owns a prestige mechanics garage and he couldnt get the control arms off and had to send it to the local LR specialist |
