Thanks Andy đź‘Ťwould there be a reason why someone would cut away the plastic cover? Also is that a Different silver case than what should be there as it doesn't appear to screw up all the way.

Someone might have fitted another pump & couldn’t be bothered to remove plastic cover so just cut it.

Do you think there is anything I can do to stop the vibrating from happening? Or maybe what the cause is? Thanks in advance Wayne. Updated sat nav

Should there not be some rubber mounting bushes on the compressor somewhere, perhaps these have disintegrated and causing it to vibrate over and above the compressors normal noise.

That illustration is for the Hitachi compressor , if you have the AMK one fitted it should look more like this which is what it looks like you have. The 3 bushes are shown by the 3 mounting screws, I think the part no. for the bush is LR038116 only that number seems to have been superseded to a complete compressor unit which doesn't seem quite right.

Looks like they changed the original Hitachi compressor over to an AMK compressor but couldn't be bothered to buy the correct covers so just cut the bottom off the Hitachi cover so it fitted. But the correct AMK covers and install. 07MY RRS TDV6

The rubbers don’t look too good in the photo but it may just be a bad shot. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Thanks again col, everything you have just said makes total sence now,I was told that they had changed the compressor but had done it on the cheap, and had indeed fitted an incorrect compressor unit as I had to take my car into a reputable range rover mechanic in preston to try and correct the wrongs that had been done. And I had to get everything re callabrated. I really appreciate your assistance col, I now have the information to go back to the car dealer with. Thank you. Updated sat nav

The compressor isn’t the wrong part. It’s a replacement part that is now recommended but should be done properly. Hacking the cover isn’t done properly in my opinion, but would be more cost. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

AMK cover is best part of ÂŁ150.00 for two bits of plastic from L/R at there prices, probably get pattern parts a lot cheaper somewhere.
