No they cannot be switched off. They are a through flow filter - in one end and out the other. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

I've been using the flash rinse system [ good ] but I hate using the poxy spray gun = too bulky. I have been looking into these ionic rinse cartridges for some time - so best I take the plunge .........
