I had a Jag that had the pitted contacts on the starter relay. So I would suspect that was your issue. |

Battery needs charging with a decent smart charger. Although I reckon it's looking a bit tired. A drop from 12.2V (not great) to 11.3V (rubbish) suggests either it needs a decent smart charge or it's . Charge it and see what happens. Edit: I see stuff changed. Typical. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Thanks for your reply RRSTDV8, yes, both the battery and alternator were replaced with LR genuine items just over 4 years ago/27000 miles ago.

Well, just popped out in the rrs, pressed start and then 'click', the second press it started fine.
