United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HSE Santorini Black

I've had this exact fault. Switching lights on cured it, and I can't remember the logic behind it

Root cause was a corroded splice joint in the front of the NS sill. Same side as the central locking splice, just further forward Thumbs Up

Many Thanks Mikey…

Looks like the live feeds to the shifter are a green pink wire going to BCM fuse 33 a 5amp and purple blue wire going to BCM fuse 44 another 5amp.

If it ever stops raining I will be out with my meter doing some more investigating

Very interesting your PRND aren’t illuminated.

P should be red most of the time the ignition is in I
They are all backlit green. And when in position RND go orange

From memory.

Mikey I think he’s already had a go at one red splice

Yeah it is worth checking those fuses you mention if you aren't getting orange/red lights.

Otherwise check the black ground wire has a good ground

When I looked at the fuses in the BCM their was a fair bit of corrosion so removed the BCM fusebox

You’re keen to remove that. Laughing Poor connection you reckon ?

It contains the imboliser code so don’t break it!

Sorry, my ramblings post

Easy to check for power at the gear selector, and the fuse, see which end the problem lies at Thumbs Up

Called it day when it started to get dark.

Cleaned all the fuse and relay contacts with contact cleaner and checked all the fuses before reassembly.

Managed to get the BCM out without removing the lower glove box but would not go back in, good old other owners and YouTube with a video how to remove the hinge pins.

Will crack on in the week to refit the BCM then fingers crossed I have not f**ked it up.

Thanks Guys for all the pointers and advice

Much Appreciated 👍

Had a look at the selector too 😂

Also £2.11p better off from the change found under the gear shifter assembly

When you have refitted the rear connectors, if you can still see red on the connector it’s not fully inserted

P.s is it supercharged ? Profile says tdv6

Yeh my old sport was the TDV6 , Mr Khan made me sell that due to the ULEZ expansion.

However I am Ok to drive a 4.2 V8 supercharged petrol car.

Will amend my profile
