Got a puncture in the off side front wheel and discovered leaking pipes with compression joints and a pipe with no connection!
I only bought this car in March.

See photos, is this dangerous?
What are their purpose?
Legal action pending?

Appreciate any help.

New to this....older generation

ah,,the ace pipes,compression joints not really an issue,quite common i think,but not so sure about the open one.Looks like it might be the reservoir feed.Is the ace reservoir full of oil ?.
On a 2nd look,looks like they replaced the open pipe with a flexable one.

What is ace?

It's your hydraulic anti roll bars.

The pipes carry the hydraulic fluid around the system. Kev

Well there’s 4 pipes like there should be but, If that pipe isn’t connected to another part then there’s obviously No oil which means the pump is likely toast but I would have expected you to have had warning lights on the dash. I think I’d be going back to the dealer (if it wasn’t a private sale) and telling them to sort. I think it will easily be a £1000 to fix. I can see what Daxmat was suggesting now, if the pipe is disconnected at both ends then as he suggests, it’s been by passed but it’s still a bodge. My repairs a bodge but it’s tidy and saved a lot of work lifting the body. If it’s leaking I’d still be pushing for a proper repair as the other pipes don’t look good and the mounting insulators have been cut away and cable tied up. Are your engine under trays missing? I can see you have some plastic trim missing but in some of the photos I can see ground where I’d expect not to. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

The level is low as you predicted so I will top up today, I tightened the weeping compression joints when I had the wheel off.

I will keep an eye on the level from now on.

I have never had a RRS before, certainly seems like there are parts missing, like the undertrays you mention.

I will contact the dealer after I get an opinion from our local Land Rover repair expert. (BLRC bear Saintfield.

Definite bodge job. They've used a tie wrap to hold the pipe up. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I would say new pipes at £250 plus flush and filter at the minimum and the missing shields. I appreciate they will says it’s an older car but I think those pipes will just get you by and they’ll fail again when your garage warranty runs out. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Thanks guys, I will get a price for proper repair from BLRC and challenge the dealer, I only had a three month warranty, but if the repair is deemed unsafe and likely to fail I may have a case.
