Hi and welcome,,, as you will find out over time,, lots of useful information and very helpful people on the forum. Use the search function if you have a particular topic you want to research. As for mods and software updates,,, lots of people prefer to leave everything standard,,LED lamp upgrades are one thing that is popular as the original ones are not too bright. Software wise, unless you are thinking of a remap as some have done, updates to the existing systems are few and far between I think. Sat nav being an obvious choice for up date is a waste of time as I believe you cannot get the latest maps on older cars,, and it's dealer only which is why a lot use 3Rd party sat navs. As for badges,,, only ever seen the likes of sport, hse, autobiography, SVR etc,,,, personally never seen a black or red edition badge,,, but then again I've been wrong before . 2010 RRS, TDV8

I think I remember seeing somewhere that all 3.0 ltr models were an ECU out job to remap,, no option via the OBD port as with earlier models. Alive tuning or Bell auto services are popular avenues for this work. Again,, search the topic on here and you will find a heap of info. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Yeah I did lots of searching also. Just messaged Bell and defo an ECU out job... joy. Appears to be behind the battery and I bet its got a flipping cage and anti tamper bolts. Are there issues whe you remove the battery on these? programmed codes etc?

Disco_Mikey is our resident LR guru and he is in Scotlandshire, Dundee I think. I understand he does re-mapping not sure if its Alive Tuning though.

If you think it should cost more, go and price a up a new equivalent from LR. They certainly get in to the "yikes" bracket very quickly... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Do they make much difference to insurance? I live in the middle of nowhere and have cctv at the house, not sure its necessary? |

my insurance weren't interested when i asked them if i got an aftermarket immobiliser or tracker would it make any difference - they just siad it already has a factory immobiliser on it so they have applied maximum discounts? |
