I have that motor in 2021 L494 RRS. It has been flawless so far. I have 32K km, including a 4200+km round trip. Absolutely no issues and fuel economy in the 7l/100km range average.

New or ‘new to you’ as current model is MY/4 and the issues you raise re wind have been fixed. There are still issues with fuel filler flap but JLR are aware of this.

Think insurance is very much dependant on location. I have very similar personal profile as above yet cheapest I could find was £3k with eSure |

Yes, you are right. It depends on location. My quote is also from Esure. Seems like living in London area is a premium |

I've had a L461 Autobiography D300 for about a year/14k miles and IMHO the D300 is a peach of an engine. Its smooth and relatively economical; I'm seeing an average 34.5mpg if the trip recorder is to be believed and thats a mix of town and motorway driving. Its also very punchy. I thought I might miss having the bigger D350 engine but so far not at all although I do use higher octane fuel like BP ultimate and Shell V Power
