ECU and BCU

I have just bought an 2.7 HSE 2006 RR Sport with no keys. Have done this in the past and have done various things to get the car started. This time I got a lock smith to cut me a key and programme it to the car but came up with an F fault on the dash. Managed to resolve this but still the remote would not work.
I have a 2007 2.7 HSE Discovery has anybody tried changing the body control unit, engine ecu and dash clocks over to get a car running? In theory there shouldn't be an issue as both cars are exactly the same underneath with the exception of the ACE. Current cars

That’s what you need I believe. There are matching kits of these items on eBay.
Make sure it’s suited to your engine

You need a way of forcing RRS Firmware into the D3 modules, if you do it that way

What do you mean? At this stage all I want to do is see if the car will run. Airbags are deployed and have various other bits to repair but not worth doing if it doesn't run. Current cars

Silly things, like the tailgate won't open, and the SRS settings are different, and the CCF will be wrong

You need a way to correct these issues, but no idea if it will start and run without correcting them

Could the problem actually be that he KVM module is of the earliest type, to which you cannot programme a new key? Might the answer therefore be to get the later KVM module and programme the key to that?

Mind you, there would be the cost of the KVM.

Not sure that applies as the 2006 model was not keyless.

Cheers
