It is a good idea to add more Christmas trees at the rear of the hood sound proofing as the factory setup does not work that well.

Can remember doing that years ago when rear of the bonnet insulation was sagging a bit on mine.

I put Dynamat Xtreme followed by Dynamat sound deadening under the original hoodliner.

Not much point doing that on my old 5.0L S/C as they have a noise feedback system that transmits the engine/exhaust note into the interior of the car via a resonator/symposer. Or In the words of L/R "to enhance the driving experience".

Ooh, thanks for awakening this thread as it's reminded me I need to get a new bonnet "carpet" too. I recently found mine had been used as a home by a mouse - judging by the nutshells and seed husks that fell out of the drooping rear edge when I was topping up my screen wash at the time. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
