Help Electrical problem

So on a previous thread I told you my car died on the drive. Assumed it was the battery so had the aa out today to fit one. Car started up first time and battery and everything else tested and all good. Aa man said no need to change battery as there is nothing wrong with it. Just been on an hours drive and turned car off. It bleeps and says battery low please start engine. Also the boot lid wont open when the button pressed but it will close ok. Everything else seems ok with the car and drives as it should with no warning lights etc. Any ideas?

My deployable tow bar also doesn’t work. When I press the on button it just lights up red and bleeps. I’m going to disconnect the battery and leave for half an hour then reconnect and hope that a system reset will fix everything. I’m not feeling confident though……

The AA men are the mechanic scum of the earth . I have "worked " with quite a few.
The battery will not re charge from discharged state on the car. Common old wife's tale.
The voltage is not high enough . You want 12 -24 hrs on a home charger and if its any good you will be OK Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

The car has been on charge for a week on a CTEC charger and according to that it says battery is ok and has the green light on it. When I open the door the battery low please start engine sign comes up on the dash board.

What is the battery voltage when the car says low battery?

Your "Charger " is a battery maintainer not a charger. The charger needs to get it up to 15v for it to be fully charged and to remove sulphate . If the battery is over 4 years old scrap it and get the cheapest you can find on ebay. Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

Not too sure but I can check. What should the voltage be? Do I need to check at the battery terminals or can it be done at the terminals under the bonnet?

So just been out to the car and now there are no low battery warning on the dash boot lid opens and shut with remote and the tow bar working as it should . I did drive the car yesterday when the AA man had gone just to make sure everything was ok. Should I still check the battery voltage? This problem started after I washed the car. I have a CTEC connector fixed to the charging terminals under the bonnet that comes out under the windscreen scuttle. There is a very slim chance this could have got wet. Could this have caused all my electrical problems ?

Just checked the voltage at the battery. It’s 13.1v. Is this good?

At 6 minutes it tells you how to reset.
There are 2 types of reset. No red lights mentioned though

He didn’t fit a new battery as there was nothing wrong with it. He had his test equipment attached to the battery and he did all sorts of tests like starting car , putting heated seats on etc and all was ok according to his test meter.
