Remove pedestal sides?

How do I remove the side of the central pedestal? RRS S/C 2005
I don’t find that in my workshop manual.
I need to remove the “carpet?” to check my rusty floor.

The whole center console ?

It's not easy.
remove radio surround. Pull grey/wood trim from the bottom
I think you need to remove radio and then remove climate panel

Pull the wood or grey trims outward. Remove screws at the front
Pull the gear knob off by pulling it off, upwards
Then the center top can be lifted. Unplug lots of plugs

Remove the fridge or box
I think you need to remove the gear selector block. 4 bolts.
There is then a base under the gear selector which needs removing. 4 bolts.
Then the center console screws/botls can be removed.

Something like that anyway

I hope I only need to remove one side if possible.
I have removed the top of the pedestal with all the el. connections.

The front carpet is in one piece covering the full width of the floor to remove it completely you will need to remove the complete center console, I don't think you can just remove the console side panels in situ. you have to remove the whole console.

You need section 501-12 of chapter 5 in the workshop manual, unfortunately for whatever reason chapter 5 does not appear to be included in all versions of the manual for 2005/2009 cars.

Cheers
Col

Thank you very much Col.
I have to find that chapter.
Ok, I understand that this will be more stripping than I hoped for.
Thanks for your help.

I have googled to find a new floor (if mine is too bad) but can not find anything.
Front seat left side new floor, can you give me help to find the that part?
RRS MY 2005. If there is a part number you know it can help.

I have looked at a old parts list and it does not appear to list the front floor pan separate, it is an integral part of the bodyshell, there is one listed AFD780011 but it is showing for the rear.

Cheers

Thaks Col.
Ok. I have to remove the Console and check the floor and find the source of leaking water.
There is a connector behind the transmission selector lever box, I don’t know how to remove it.

Why is my photos shown sideways?

If you want to check then you could do what I did in my Jag ...cut a nice flap (3 sides ) in the centre and when you finished glue it back and put your cover mat on it.
If its that rusty can you not probe it from under the car . Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.
The avatar is a picture of the man with a big cock.
Learned to 4x4 on 100 mile beach and Frazer Island QLD
Dont spend money on old cars you will never get it back

I don’t recall it being a difficult connector to remove.

Most will have a tab that needs pushing.
Some will retract by moving at a right angle. Maybe Martin knows.

The 2 AC drains are a little forward from where you are. I think, either side of console

Thank you Andy K. I found out that it is a lever to open up the lock 👍

I have finally removed the console and can lift the carpet higher up.
The floor is very badly rusted.
This picture is also 90 degrees sideways 🤨
