Changing odometer from KM to miles

My car is a 4.2 SC which went out to Singapore with the original purchaser (a British diplomat) and he then brought it back into the country in 2016.

As such, the odometer shows KM, although the speedo has been changed to mph.

Whilst the service history and MoTs show everything recorded in km, I’d like to change the odometer to record the current distance travelled in miles.

It’s not a simple question of holding down the trip re-set for a couple of seconds, so if anyone has a solution I’d be all ears.

I believe SDD can switch it to miles when ran in engineering mode (full access to CCF). I personally wanted to do the opposite (my dads D3 comes from the US of A), but sadly there is a fault in the BCM of this very car preventing the CCF from being edited so never really got to it. Regards etc.,

Not sure you have to edit anything in the CCF, don't know if you can do it via the indicator stalk menu on the pre-facelift, but simply change mine on a facelift with the steering wheel menu button.

Try this.

Thanks Col - I can change the trip from km to miles on the main display, but not the small display to the right of it, which gives the total distance travelled.

Perhaps it is only the facelift you can change it all on.

No is the same for earlier models. Its all in the handbook. If in doubt, read the instructions. 07MY RRS TDV6

That's why I posted the settings option pages for the pre-facelift cars, as the OP may not have one.

Exactly. The units for the central information display are easily changed with the "i" button on the stalk. The units for the odometer (the small display below the speedo) are fixed - however there is a position in the CCF that sets default distance unit for the whole car.

Thanks Wotjek - so it’s definitely a case of going into the CCF ?

I'd have to sort my dad's BCM to be 100% sure, but I was playing with the CCF in my car when switching to digital cluster and when I set "mph" as the global measurement unit (not the secondary small speedo), my odometer started to show the mileage in miles as well. Regards etc.,
