Hi all. Despite a fair bit of searching there's bu66er all on this. My problem is that the power tailgate on my RRS opens with all methods including the tailgate and dash buttons and the key. The problem is closing it again. The close button on the tailgate itself works fine but the dash button and keys don't. I get a click from the tailgate but no movement. Any suggestions most welcome. Might seem like a silly question but are you trying to press the key fob and the dash button whilst you are sitting in the car with the key?
I have a feeling that there is a safety feature built in and it knows if your keys are in the car to stop you closing the boot and locking your keys inside. Then if you get out (with the keys in your pocket) and walk round to the boot, the button will work, because the keys are now outside!
If so, try using the key fob outside of the car.

That's how it's designed to work by land rover, just to close from the hatch lower switch, there are modules available on a popular auction site, that just clip into the wiring inside the hatch lid, and enable the lid to be closed from the key at dash switch.
