Egr blanking kit

Hi team.
Someone posted about the love/hate we have with our RR sports. After owning mine for less than a year I now understand!!!!
Deep pockets was the term used lol. I’ve now spent £2500 already 😩
So know the EML came on and yes it wasn’t a split hose but the egr valves, it just had to be!
My indie guy suggests getting them blanked off as a less expensive option although I will need to get the diagnostic guy on it to clear the light. Can anyone suggest a certain type of kits or are they pretty run of the mill?
Thank you

EU3 (up to 2005/6?) can just be blanked, but EU4 engines will need a software patch to turn out the EML light on your dash, which I think is an MOT failure if illuminated.
It is now an MOT failure to tamper with emission equipment, your EGR valves, but what most people do is fit the shims blocking the EGR valves, and then refit the original pipes so that it looks like it is all original.
You could replace your EGR valves, probably several hundred quid, or buy the blanking kit for less that £50 and an hours labour at your indi. You can do them yourself if your handy with spanners, there will be a guide her or if not, certainly the Disco3 forum.
If you do delete, best keep quiet about it though.
It might help others to advise you if you fill in your vehicle profile so we know what MY you have Thumbs Up

I will update my profile so it becomes easier to answer my posts because I do suspect there will be more!!!
So all in all it seems a bad idea to blank off the v8 then?

Is it only 2.7's that can be blanked then, not TDV8's or SDV6's ?

England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

i had eml light coming on my TDV8 had it egr terra cleaned which sorted the issue for about a week .(i cleared it with icarsoft)
it then came back on again , so before blanking , i gave both valve shafts a good spray of EGR cleaner , gave the area a bit of a scrub with a small paint brush and a light brushing with copper grease and fitted the blanks . that was about 1000 miles ago , the fuel economy has shot up and car much smoother .
having read this, the ole clacker valve is twitching as is seams the tdv8 shouldnt be blanked , does anyone know why and what the damage it can cause is ?

cheers in advance

2010 tdv6 egr blanking

Hello all am new to this forum. Sorry if this has been answered. Looking at doing the blanking myself on my rrs tdv6 2010 l320. Not sure if it needs pluggging in or re mapping etc after or if it doesn’t?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks
Aaron

Hello thanks for the quick response.
I have had a search on this and can’t find much regarding the tdv6 3.0 diesel. Most threads are just referring back to the v8’s.

I just would like to to if fitting one would
A/ pass and MOT?
B/ need any software upgrades
C/ or can the kit be fitted without any other issues ie knocking and having the ECU throwing any codes or lights on the dashboard!?

Much appreciated 😁
