Apparently the crankshafts & main bearings were upgraded & the oil pump was uprated (in addition to the casing being strengthened). The Territory motor seems to be similar to the 2.7 in the "entry-level" D4, which seem to be more reliable. The 3L ones are a different story again, however(!).
Certainly the incidence of crankshaft/bearing failure in Territories here in AU is very rare compared to Discovery 3s & RR Sports.

Hi Lionel
Got Sport back last week the 2.7TDCi engine is mint, already done a 1000 miles the garage did a great job of switching most things over, HP Fuel pump/Injectors/Waterpump did not need changing or coding, oil light goes out within 2 to 3 seconds before was 5 to 6 seconds and no rattle at start-up or smoke. starts first click, over the Easter did a long drive and did 1055km(652 miles) to tank of fuel with fuel light just coming on fuel computer was around 7.7L TO 100KM, all cam belts done also, egr deleted and removed and engine tuned, this engine fitted had only done around 119,000km or 73,000 miles, and out of a 2015 Ford Territory, very very happy, Ps: both engines were Euro 4 which i think made it a lot easier.
