L320 screen washer intermittent

The screen wash system on our L320 supercharged is acting up.. Nothing from the window sprayers back or front (but they did the other day) and sometimes from the headlight sprayers - but not at the same time. One day one works then the next day both and so on. Tank is full to the top.
Any common faults? Do the pumps have tiny filters like my X5 and Im guessing the pumps buried in the wheel arch well…
I could do with them working buy tomorrow evening as I’ve got motorway miles to do..

Headlight washers work every 6 cycles or something like that.

Yeah there could be a filter in the seal between pump and tank. And yes in wheel arch

Check you hear a click behind the glovebox when wash pressed

And then only if the headlights are on. 07MY RRS TDV6

I’ve only got the new headlight washer that works now. There is a click from under the dash and the fuse is ok. Baffled..

Get someone else if you can to listen outside by pass wheel arch to see if motor can be heard. If yes probably filter as you say.
If no, probably need to order a pump before bothering to pull apart

I can’t hear a pump going unless the headlight washer works so maybe it’s packed up. I’m assuming the window washer pump is separate from the headlight pump.
But why only one headlight? Both worked yesterday. The rear washer doesn’t work either and I can’t believe both pumps have packed up at the same time. I have to fix this or the wife will just go and buy another car.

1 big pump does the headlights.

1 small pump does the front and rear windows

Ensure the headlights are OFF when you are trying to listen for the window pump

Fixed. Sort of.. I replaced the pump so it now works but no water from off side headlight washer or near side windscreen washer. I guess the nozzles are blocked so I'll take a look at those at the weekend.
