alignment causing issues? | |
Hi all can I get some advice on the following, back in Feb I had both front arms replaced and a wheel alignment done as well as other stuff. Since then my steering wheel has been slightly off set, a little turned to the left, for some reason I thought this would correct itself once the vehicle was driven following the work , it hasn't. Part of the work done was replacing all the ARC pipework, recently I've been getting the " vehicle lean when cornering message", checked the fluid level and all fine with no leaks. This message only comes on at speeds above 50 mph on the motorway.
I had it checked over by a different garage, a more local one and they tell me that it needs a wheel alignment to start with and then steering sensors will need resetting. This garage suggest that the issue only flags up when at speed because the vehicle thinks, due to the off set of the steering, that a sharp turn is being carried out, it's trying to adjust the ride on the appropriate side and then throws the message up, at lesser road speeds it doesn't have an issue with this "turn" being done.
Does this diagnosis sound correct and if I get the alignment re done can I sort the steering sensors with my Gap iiD tool
Thanks for any input you can give ![Thumbs Up Thumbs Up](images/smiles/icon_thumbs.gif)
