What’s the trigger / bottom on the gear leaver

Hi guys

Range Rover sport Auto HSE 2010

What’s the trigger for on the gear stick. What does it do - can’t find it mentioned in the manual ?

Are you referring to the release button to shift the gearstick out of park/reverse etc.? only you shouldn't be able to move the stick from park unless you press it in, all works in conjunction with the transmission interlock solenoid I believe.

Cheers

Thanks Colin

I’ve only had RRS since weekend and always used the trigger when I change gears anyway so that’s cool - thank you

It doesn't need to be pressed when moving between D and N
