Picked up my new (to me) 2012 HSE today which unbeknown to the dealer has a recently replaced Webasto (Jane invoice for replacement by LR due to original smoking excessively) however the remote has gone walkabout and it doesn’t have timed climate option on headunit.

Can I buy a replacement fob and ‘pair’ it with the car or is it not that simple??

Are you sure it’s got parked heating as a factory option? I used to have a 2012 AB RRS and that had the remote and the timed heater bit on the info screen. Check your car factory spec with topix or another vin decoder

They all have the fuel burning heater but they don't all have timed climate. The heater is used by the car to get the engine warmed up quicker in cold weather. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

ISTR you need the receiver (in the boot?) as well as a fob, you might be able to add the T/C to the screen but not just buy a fob,
a less ££££ option might be an aftermarket remote to start the FBH, there about £60
(recently asked 1 seller in the UK to sort a possible Group Buy but had no reply yet )

I retro fitted timed climate and the remote fob to my RRS recently.

To configure timed climate & remote using the IID tool:
IIDTool Menu->Car Config->HVAC Ventilation->
Fuel Burning Heater is equal to Fitted parking heat
Timed Climate is equal to Enable
FBH Call Start is equal to Fitted radio

Part numbers you need are:
LR008654 Antenna
LR036695 Module
LR027493 Remote Fob
